Rohwer Elementary School is a K-5 school located in the Wood Creek neighborhood of Omaha, NE. Representing one of four new schools that are each approximately 60,870 square feet, house 450-550 students, and have similar floor plans and building systems, plans were developed to address tight and severely sloping sites. Multi-level facilities include two wings and administrative offices in addition to classrooms. Specifically, a "multi-purpose wing" boasts a gymnasium that doubles as a cafeteria, kitchen, and platform/stage used for music class, and was designed as a storm shelter that can resist winds up to 200 mph.
